Acupressure To Relieve Colds And Flu

These acupressure points will alleviate symptoms and restore health. B 2 is an acupressure point that will help to relieve the cold symptoms of congestion, headaches and tired eyes. Press in the indentations on the brow where the ridge of the eyebrows and the nose connect. Pressing the St 3 point will help to soothe nose and head congestion and eye fatigue. The St 3 point is under the pupils of the eyes on the lower part of the cheekbone. Pressing the LI 20 points on the sides of the nostrils will help to treat nasal congestion, sinus pain and facial swelling. The LI 4 point is a major acupressure point. Pressing this point will relieve cold and flu symptoms, head congestion and headaches. LI 4 is on the highest point of the webbing between the thumb and index finger. The LI 11 points on the elbows will strengthen the immune system. Pressing these points also alleviates cold symptoms and fever. The points are located on the outer end of the elbow crease.


GB 20 alleviates headaches and head congestion. The GB 20 points are in the spaces under the base of the skull that are about two to three inches apart. The GB 16 point relieves headaches, head congestion, eye irritation and neck stiffness. This point is in the center space under the base of the skull. GV 24.5 relieves headaches, head congestion and nasal congestion. The point is in the indentation between the eyebrows where the nose connects to the forehead. Pressing this point also induces calm and relieves anxiety. K 27 will alleviate

breathing difficulties, chest congestion, coughing and sore throat. The points are in the spaces between the collarbone and breastbone.
Here is an easy acupressure treatment to ease cold or flu symptoms and hasten recovery. To begin the treatment massage the back of the neck and the base of the skull. Press the B 2 points for a minute. Then press upward on the St 3 and LI 20 points beside the nostrils. This will alleviate nasal congestion. Then press the K 27 points for a minute to clear congestion. Pressing the LI 4 area for a minute will also help to treat congestion and sinus pressure. Repeat this treatment every day to relieve symptoms and speed recovery.


This series of acupressure points will help to strengthen the immune system to prevent illness. Pressing or massaging these points will help you to regain your health and keep the illness from recurring. The points are K 3, K 27, St 36, LI 4, LI 11, GV 24.5, GV 26 and TW 5. K3 is located between the ankle and the Achilles tendon. K 27 is in the indentations between the breastbone and collarbone. St 36 is four finger widths below the knee cap and one finger width on the outside of the shin. LI 4 is in the webbing between the thumb and index finger. LI 11 is on the outside of the elbow crease. GV 24.5 is located in the center of the forehead at the connection of the bridge of the nose. Pressing up on GV 24.5 will help to stimulate the immune system. GV 26 is in the area between your nose and upper lip. Pressing and massaging this area will revitalize your body. TW 5 is two and a half finger widths above the wrist crease on the upper side of the arm.


Specific symptoms may be treated by pressing or massaging the associated acupressure points. Acupressure points for bronchitis are LI 4, GB 20, GB 21 and St 36. Points for colds and flu are B 2, LI 4, LI 11, TW 5, GB 20, St 3, St 36 and SP 6. The acupressure points to treat ear infections are LI 4, LI 11, TW 5, St 36 and GB 20. Acupressure points to alleviate fatigue are St 36, GV 26 and GB 21. Pressing LI 4, LI 11 and TW 5 also relieves fever. Pneumonia symptoms may be treated by pressing St 36, GV 26, LI 4 and LI 11.
